As for the quality of American TV coverage of the World Cup, which is fed to all other nations’ networks, Norman Giller, in the Sunday Express of London, complained: “Both BBC and ITV will be concerned about the quality of the early World Cup coverage by their host directors in the United States. . . .
“The 2 billion worldwide audience deserves better. Harsh words are sure to be exchanged if the coverage does not improve.”
