Roger Milla, 42, the star of Cameroon’s improbable success in the 1990 Cup, did not play against Sweden, at least partly because of an injured hamstring.

“He is to be considered as one of 22 players on our squad,” Cameroon Coach Henri Michel said. “He is always available. We consider him a joker, a wild card. There is a reason to hold him out of certain situations such as today. He has had an injury.”
