The Conejo Valley Family Care Center is scheduled to open next Monday in Thousand Oaks, the fifth satellite clinic in the county’s public health system.

The clinic, at 223 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., will provide medical care to anyone regardless of ability to pay. It is expected to focus on the needs of about 7,000 low-income residents on Medi-Cal in the east county.

The 5,000-square-foot facility has 12 exam rooms. It will provide family services including pre- and postnatal care, immunizations, examinations and general medicine.

The county also has clinics in Simi Valley, Ventura, Oxnard and Santa Paula.

Dr. Chris Landon, medical director of the county’s Pediatric Diagnostic Center in Ventura since 1989, will be the clinic’s director. He will continue to work at the Ventura center as well, rotating between the two facilities. Six other doctors will share part-time duties with Landon. The clinic will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
