One of soccer’s more sportsmanlike traditions has continued during the tournament.
When a player is injured away from the ball and the referee is slow to stop play, his teammates will kick the ball out of bounds to force a stoppage and allow for medical attention.
When play is resumed, the team throwing the ball in tosses it to the team whose player was hurt.
