The Argentina-Greece game at Foxboro, Mass., marked the debut of American referee Arturo Angeles, a 40-year-old civil engineer from Temple City.
A play-on sort, Angeles handed out three yellow cards as well as the undisputed penalty shot in injury time at the close, but he kept the uneven contest moving smoothly.
