Rams Sign Rookie Ottis for 3 Years

The Rams on Thursday signed rookie defensive end Brad Ottis to a three-year contract worth $1.045 million, including a $370,000 signing bonus.

Ottis, from Wayne State College in Nebraska, was the Rams’ third pick of the second round (56th overall). He will earn $185,000 this season, $225,000 next season and $265,000 in 1996.

Projected as a backup to Fred Stokes or Robert Young, Ottis is the sixth of the Rams’ 10 draft picks to sign.

Still unsigned are Auburn offensive tackle Wayne Gandy (first round), Memphis State receiver Isaac Bruce (second round), Virginia safety Keith Lyle (third round) and Auburn running back James Bostic (third round).
