With his rolling amplifier, hand-held microphone and floppy 20-gallon Venetian Paradise cap, street performer/improvisational rapper/self-described “wordologist” Dr. Geek entertains fans as they walk through the Rose Bowl food court, drawing wide-eyed stares and goofy grins from Romanians and Colombians who have never quite experienced anything like this.

Rappeth Dr Geek:

Here’s why we can all be friends,

even Colombia against the Americans.

You gotta have friends,

you gotta have foes

or else the 4 o’clock game won’t go.

I ask you this,

who would we play,

if everybody was for the USA?

Dr. Geek, who has rapped at other sporting events in Southern California, getting TV exposure at the Super Bowl and the Rose Bowl, jumped aboard the World Cup bandwagon but admits he had to cram for the event, “trying to learn a few words.”

“I did watch the whole first half of the U.S-Switzerland game,” the Doctor said. “I know they got a forward and a goalkeeper. And there’s a free kick and a red card. What comes after a red card--a green card?”
