SOUTH GATE : Suspect Is Sought in Transient’s Death
Police and Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were still looking for the man who killed Leonardo Padilla, a 35-year-old transient who was badly beaten June 4 and died three days later at King-Drew Medical Center.
Paramedics had found Padilla near the 4400 block of Firestone Boulevard, lying on the ground with head injuries. The coroner’s report said that Padilla died of a blow to the head, Sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Spear said.
South Gate police have located witnesses who said they saw two men fighting that night.
