Bank Revises Growth Prediction Upward: The economy, propelled by brisk exports and capital investment, should grow 7.8% this year, the highest rate in three years, the Bank of Korea said. The central bank had previously predicted that the economy would grow 6.3% this year. Other economic institutions are also revising their forecasts upward. The Korean Development Institute, a government think tank, recently changed its prediction from 7% to 7.6% growth. The Korean economy grew at an 8.8% rate in the first quarter of this year, the highest quarterly expansion in more than three years, the bank said.
