Company Town : Paul West Is Promoted at UNI Distribution

UNI Distribution Corp., the music distribution arm of MCA, promoted Paul West to vice president of studio operations, engineering and quality assurance.

West will expand the range of UNI’s studio operations. He will also oversee quality assurance and engineering at UNI’s new compact disc plant in Pickneyville, Ill., and its audiocassette plant in Gloversville, N.Y.

West previously was director of studio operations, engineering and quality assurance.

* Castle Rock Entertainment has named Catherine Purves production supervisor.

* Turner Broadcasting System has named Libby Gill West Coast vice president of public relations for Turner Entertainment Group. She had been vice president of publicity and promotion for Sony Pictures Entertainment Television Group.

* Largo Entertainment has added three vice presidents. Mark Scoon was named vice president of production services, Heidi Lester was named vice president of acquisitions, and Robert Cotzo was named vice president of finance.

* Peter Schlessel has been promoted to senior vice president of business affairs and acquisitions for Columbia TriStar Home Video. He previously was vice president of business affairs.

* Hemdale Canada has named R. Bryan Tucker a vice president.
