Former Lockheed Executive Labeled Fugitive: A federal magistrate issued an arrest warrant for Suleiman Nassar after he failed to appear for arraignment on corruption and fraud charges tied to a $79-million aircraft sale to Egypt. The warrant brands Nassar a fugitive from justice, and U.S. officials said Washington is expected to seek his extradition from Switzerland, where he is believed to be living. Nassar was regional vice president for Lockheed Corp. International in Geneva in 1989 when the California-based defense contractor secured a contract from the Egyptian government for the sale of three C-130 transport planes. Meanwhile, attorneys for Lockheed entered a not-guilty plea to charges handed down last week in a federal grand jury indictment against the company. Allen Love, director of Middle East and North Africa sales for the Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Co. in Marietta, Ga., pleaded not guilty late last week to the same charges, as well as one count of perjury.
