WALNUT : Library Hours Cut to 2-Day Schedule
The Walnut Library will reduce its hours beginning Friday, opening only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 8 p.m. The library previously was open five days a week, but continuing budget crunches in the county library system forced some new cutbacks.
The reduction will save the financially troubled county library system about $171,000 over the next year.
The book drop in the parking lot will remain open 24 hours a day. On the days when the Walnut Library is closed, library employees suggest that patrons use the libraries in Rowland Heights and Diamond Bar.
