Severe Turbulence Injures 14 People Aboard Jetliner

MIAMI —
An American Airlines jet bound for Buenos Aires was forced to return to Miami on Wednesday after running into turbulence so severe that 14 people were injured, an airline spokeswoman said. Passengers on the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 were tossed in their seats and objects flew about the cabin. One passenger suffered a ruptured spleen.
