Argentina’s team escaped reporters in Dallas early Friday morning by exiting through an employee entrance in the basement of the hotel where it stayed. . . . Germany has played 6,600 minutes in its World Cup history, according to the latest statistics released by FIFA. Brazil is 100 minutes behind. . . . Germany also leads in ties with 16, followed by Italy (13), England (12) and Brazil (12). . . . With Oleg Salenko’s five-goal output against Cameroon, Russia, including the former Soviet Union, has scored 60 goals during the World Cup. That ranks eighth on the all-time goal list. Brazil is first with 154 goals. Salenko became Russia’s all-time leader during Cup play, besting Valentin Ivanov’s five goals scored in the 1958 and 1962 tournaments. . . . The total attendance for the 52 matches played in Italia ’90 was 2.5 million. After 36 first-round matches, America’s World Cup has drawn 2.3 million, an average of 67,738 per match. . . . A Bulgarian photographer, Emil Ianev, of Football Weekly was suspended for going on the field after Bulgaria’s second goal against Argentina.
