From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Pickup Trucks Recalled: Ford Motor Co. and Mazda Motors of America are recalling about 14,400 Ford-built compact pickups to inspect or replace fuel lines that may crack and leak. The companies said they have received no reports of accidents, fires or injuries related to the defective lines. The Ford recall covers about 12,600 1994 Ranger pickups with 3-liter or 4-liter V6 engines, including about 1,000 sold in Canada. Ford said fewer than 3,000 of the trucks have reached retail customers. Mazda said its recall applies to 1,789 of its B3000 and B4000 pickups built for 1994, of which fewer than 400 have left dealer showrooms.
