Ford Raises ’95 Prices: The No. 2 U.S. auto maker said prices on some 1995 models are being increased by an average 2.2%, or $419 per vehicle, over 1994 versions. Prices for Ford’s 1995 light-duty trucks will be announced later this summer. The company instituted a $200 price increase on 1994 models of its popular Explorer sport-utility vehicle. The increases are effective immediately, so dealers can take orders from customers ahead of the models’ Sept. 29 public introduction. The increases affect all models except the Contour, Probe, Mercury Mystique and Lincoln Continental. Prices on those will be announced later, Ford said. Last week, industry leader GM said it would raise ’95 model prices by an average 2.5%.
