Art: Photos by 21 Students to Be Displayed at Bus Stops

Share

Bus stops from Hollywood to East Los Angeles will be decorated with the photography of 21 students from five high schools. The students, chosen by their photography teachers at Franklin, Lincoln, Bravo, Marshall and Hollywood high schools, will debut their work at the Los Angeles Children’s Museum today from noon to 4 p.m.

Since February, the students have dedicated their Saturdays to taking pictures--on any topic. They tackled issues ranging from racism to feminism to homelessness, and scanned their photographs into computers.

The program is part of a joint project involving the Los Angeles Center for Photographic Studies in Hollywood and the California Institute of the Arts Community Arts Partnership. Since 1990, CAP has provided Los Angeles youths with professional arts training and artistic opportunities.
