MISSION VIEJO : Grant Application Deadline Is Sept. 1

Share

Community service groups have until Sept. 1 to submit proposals for $50,000 in grants to be awarded by the city this year. All nonprofit groups that provide needed services to Mission Viejo residents are eligible for the grants, which are awarded quarterly by the City Council.

Groups do not have to be based in Mission Viejo, but their programs must benefit a substantial number of city residents.

Funding also can be extended to special civic and cultural events.

Priority is given to organizations that provide services to the largest number of Mission Viejo residents and satisfy a social need that would otherwise go unfilled.

Applications are reviewed by city staff, and the City Council decides how the grants are awarded.

Nonprofit groups interested in applying for the community service funds can pick up an application at City Hall, 26522 La Alameda.
