The emergency service operator in Malmo, Sweden, said no phone calls were made during Sweden’s victory over Romania on Sunday. But after goalkeeper Thomas Ravelli saved the final penalty kick, ensuring Sweden a place in the semifinals, a woman called to say her husband had chest pains and needed assistance.

“I wanted to call earlier but he forbade me,” the woman told the emergency operator, according to the national news agency TT.
