PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Linebacker Phifer Suffers Another Hamstring Strain

Outside linebacker Roman Phifer suffered another strain of his right hamstring during pass-defense drills in pre-camp at Rams Park. Trainer Jim Anderson said it was a mild strain, similar to one Phifer suffered in workouts last week.

“We’re not going to push it this week,” Anderson said. “We want him ready for the start of training camp next week.”

The four-day pre-camp workouts will end Thursday, but the rookies and free agents will return next Monday for three more days of workouts. Players will report for training camp physicals July 21 at UC Irvine, with workouts beginning there the next day.
