Fluor Daniel Inc. said Thursday that it has won a $100-million contract to provide engineering and procurement services for retrofitting a waste-to-energy plant in Niagara Falls, N.Y.

The Irvine company, the main subsidiary of Fluor Corp., said the project includes replacing the existing system with a mass burn combustion system consisting of two new boilers, each capable of processing about 1,000 tons of municipal solid waste every day.

Fluor Constructors International, also a Fluor Corp. unit, will provide construction management services on the contract, which was awarded by American Ref-Fuel Co.
