Standard Pacific Corp.: The Costa Mesa-based home builder reported second-quarter profit of $1.2 million, or 4 cents a share. That compared to earnings of $178,000, or 1 cent a share, for the same period a year earlier. Revenue rose 53% to $107.7 million from $70.2 million. For the first half, profit totaled $1.7 million, or 6 cents a share. That compared to earnings of $2.2 million, or 7 cents a share, for the corresponding 1993 period, which included a gain of $858,000 from an accounting change. Six-month revenue increased 52% to $186.6 million from $122.5 million.
