Laser Precision Corp.: The San Juan Capistrano manufacturer of test and measurement instruments said its profit for the second quarter was $231,000, or 5 cents a share, which included a pretax charge of $155,000 related to the settlement of a lawsuit. That compared to a profit of $139,000, or 3 cents a share, for the comparable period last year, which included a loss from discontinued operations of $126,000. Revenue was up 11% to $6.2 million from $5.6 million. For the six-month period, profit was $323,000, or 7 cents a share. That compared to earnings of $156,000, or 3 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier, which included a loss of $270,000 from discontinued operations. Six-month revenue increased slightly to $11.4 million from $11.3 million.
