Auto Parts Production Rises in Brazil: Output reached $6.4 billion for the first six months of 1994, up 7% over that period last year, the Gazeta Mercantil newspaper reported. Sindipecas, the Brazilian association of auto parts manufacturers, expects the industry’s output to rise to $15 billion by the end of the year, a 20% increase over 1993. Growth is being fueled by strong local motor vehicle production, which is expected to reach 1.5 million units in 1994, and by stronger exports, which rose 41.8% during the first five months of 1994 over the same period last year, the Gazeta said. Last year, Brazilian auto parts production rose to $12.5 billion, up 18.5% over 1992.
