While sheriff’s deputies grappled with a 6-foot-7, 280-pound drug suspect, James (Boo) Sullivan stood by and watched.

A deputy who dropped his radio during the five-minute struggle with Johnny Barr ordered Sullivan to pick it up so the officer could call for backup.

“Are you crazy?” Sullivan responded, according to authorities.

After the deputies finally subdued Barr, they went looking for Sullivan and charged him with failure to aid an officer, a little-used law on the books since 1868.

Sullivan could get up to 60 days in jail and a $500 fine. He was released without bail.

As for Barr, he was charged with cocaine possession, resisting arrest and other offenses, and was jailed without bail.
