Ex-Democratic Party Aide Given 30 Days in Tax Case

ALEXANDRIA, Va. —
A former Democratic National Committee official has been sentenced to 30 days in prison for failing to pay federal income taxes for three years. Bernard V. Craighead, 40, who was a congressional liaison for the DNC’s health care campaign, paid $22,600 in back taxes after he was charged in April with failing to file tax returns.
