LOS ANGELES : Recycling Market Zone Expanded to All of City

Share

Los Angeles’ recycling market development zone, which provides recycling-based manufacturers with special financial services, now encompasses all of the city, Mayor Richard Riordan has announced.

Previously, the state-designated zone was limited to a 200-acre industrial park in the harbor community of Wilmington.

“This expanded designation is a win for Los Angeles’ business sector,” Riordan said. “By participating in the RMDZ, businesses will be rewarded for their innovation in manufacturing marketable products from recyclable materials.”

The program offers low-interest loans and industrial development bonds to gain access to domestic and overseas markets. The expanded zone will allow more businesses to qualify for financing that will help them grow, said Riordan.
