FCC in High-Tech Reorganization: The Federal Communications Commission unveiled a reorganization plan, reflecting what experts predict will be explosive growth in the wireless communications and international telecommunications businesses. FCC Chairman Reed Hundt said two new bureaus will be created over the next several months: the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and the International Bureau. Longtime Senate telecommunications aide Regina Keeney will become chief of the wireless bureau. Also to be created are an Office of Workplace Diversity and a Competition Division, a move drawing upon Hundt’s desire to expand the FCC oversight to antitrust.
