SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

Intermediate schools on a year-round schedule will have back-to-school nights starting on Thursday, and parents are encouraged to attend with their children, a school district spokeswoman said Monday.

During the programs, parents will accompany their children on a walk-through of their classes. During each 15-minute class, teachers will explain lessons, grading and what is expected of students. Principals will also talk to parents about school rules, events and students’ rights and responsibilities, district spokeswoman Diane Thomas said.

Intermediate schools holding back-to-school night on Aug. 4 include Carr, Lathrop and Spurgeon.
