Santa Clarita / Antelope Valley : Exotic Dance Club Delays Reopening

Share

A controversial exotic dance club just outside Santa Clarita has postponed its reopening for at least two weeks for unspecified reasons, and now tentatively plans to open its doors Aug. 15.

Castaic Junction: A Gentleman’s Club, located just north of Six Flags Magic Mountain, was closed by police July 21 because the club did not have the proper county permits. Club officials said they hoped to reopen Monday, but failed to do so.

An answering machine at Castaic Junction’s listed phone number states the club will tentatively stage its “grand opening” Aug. 15 as a restaurant with a full bar and live exotic dancing.

Castaic Junction has stirred controversy since opening in late June. The building’s owner obtained a court order forcing all-nude female dancers to wear bikinis, claiming the dancers violated the club’s lease.

Numerous protests have also come from local residents, but club officials said their crowds were good until the shutdown.
