A reserve police officer involved in a gun battle at a Chatsworth nightclub is recovering from a wound to the upper leg at a local hospital, where his condition has been upgraded, a nursing supervisor said Wednesday.
Jeff Wilson, 34, was shot by two teen-agers wearing ski masks as he left the Cowboy Palace Saloon late Monday night with a female friend, police said. Wilson, a San Fernando Police reserve officer, returned fire, striking each of the suspected would-be robbers several times.
Authorities identified the assailants as a 16-year-old Sun Valley resident, whose name was withheld, and Mjomo Abdul Anderson, 19, of North Hollywood. The youth is in serious condition at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, and Anderson is being held at the USC-County Jail Ward, authorities said.
Both were booked for attempted robbery and attempted murder.
