Hits Magazine Tip of the Week
VH-1 is reporting a huge ratings increase for its “Stones TV” programming, for which the video channel preempted its regular 7 p.m-to-midnight schedule with Rolling Stones clips, interviews and reports from the band’s “Voodoo Lounge” tour. “Stones TV” marks the first major programming move by the channel under new President John Sykes and Vice President Andy Schoun, who are attempting to remove VH-1 from the shadow of its more successful sister network, MTV. Among the channel’s new goals is more active participation in the music industry.
