Market trends: Microsoft Corp. was the volume leader in Monday’s trading. Elsewhere, AMC Entertainment Inc., one of the largest motion picture exhibitors in the United States, announced first-quarter profit of $1.6 million on $128.5 million in sales, compared to a year-earlier profit of $3.1 million on $135.9 million in sales. The company attributed the decline in first-quarter revenue to “weaker film product which resulted in lower attendance levels.”
