Film: Things might be coming together soon for former TriStar Chairman Mike Medavoy in his efforts to set up a production and distribution entity. Medavoy has pretty much gained the financing commitments. In a brief interview, he confirmed that a deal is close but that several loose ends are still being tied up by lawyers working on the project. Medavoy said he is getting enthusiastic response to his plans. He began working with former Carolco executive Peter Hoffman and former Columbia/TriStar International executive Arnold Messer shortly after he left TriStar in the wake of a falling out with the brass at TriSar parent Sony Pictures.
