BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJOR LEAGUES : Sanders Charged With Misdemeanors
Cincinnati Red outfielder Deion Sanders was charged with two misdemeanors Monday night following an altercation with a security officer at Riverfront Stadium. Police Lt. Fred Ramsey said off-duty Cincinnati police officer Herb Kohus was guarding a stadium pedestrian entrance and stopped Sanders as he tried to drive his motorcycle through it. Sanders was charged with failing to provide a driver’s license and resisting arrest. The officer suffered minor injuries, Ramsey said. Police will interview more witnesses today and consult with prosecutors before deciding whether to add an assault charge.
