St. Louis-based Interco Inc. said it is considering spinning off all or part of its Converse and Florsheim footwear divisions. An evaluation of the move is expected to be completed by the end of the month. . . . Armco Inc., a Pittsburgh-based steelmaker, said it signed a definitive agreement to sell its insurance businesses for about $85 million to Vik Brothers Insurance Inc., a privately held company in Raleigh, N.C. . . . The Defense Department said Japan wants to buy two airborne early-warning systems built by Boeing Co. at a total estimated cost of $547 million. The sale of the systems is expected to be unopposed by Congress. . . . Eli Lilly & Co. announced that it is extending its offer to purchase all common shares outstanding of McKesson Corp. for $76.00 per share in cash until 5 p.m., EDT, Sept. 9.
