Offering Thanks for a ‘Night Out’

Share

* You had to be there to see the spectacular display of service units that “protect and serve” the Orange County citizenry. It was all there July 30 at the Ortega Shopping Center in San Juan Capistrano.

This event was a prelude to the Aug. 2 tri-city 11th Annual National Night Out that (was) held throughout the United States. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for participation in local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community relations and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Agencies that supported this community awareness must be highly commended for their effort and dedication in bringing to the public an overview of available services.

Events of this magnitude don’t just happen. It was partially due to the team effort of San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente and Dana Point to bring residents an awareness program that should be repeated next year.

Congratulations to all those that did a remarkable job in making this a success.
