A summary of selected Los Angeles City Hall actions last week that affect the Westside.

* RAYMOND CHANDLER SQUARE--Approved the recommendation of the Cultural Heritage Commission to include Raymond Chandler Square, at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Cahuenga Boulevard, on the city’s list of Historic Cultural Monuments.

* POLICE TASK FORCE--Approved the transfer of $55,000 from the reserve fund to the Police Overtime Fund to pay detectives working overtime with the Los Angeles Metro Task Force on Violent Crime. The FBI will reimburse the city.

* LIBRARY MURAL--Accepted as a donation from photographer Rich Mann a composition of 60 black and white photographs of Ocean Front Walk at Venice Beach. The work will be displayed at the Venice-Kinney Memorial Branch Library upon the completion of the building in June, 1995.

* ADULT CABARETS--Approved an ordinance that will require adult cabarets, including those that feature striptease shows, to obtain a conditional-use permit requiring adequate parking and security. Under the current law, adult cabarets that do not serve alcohol are not regulated; neighbors of some of these establishments, however, have complained that they are still a nuisance. Passed 13-0.
