ALHAMBRA : Fund to Honor Retiring Health-Care Official
More than $385,000 has been raised for a new endowment fund honoring Alhambra resident Stephen W. Gamble, retiring president of the Hospital Council of Southern California. The endowment will provide grants for new projects promoting health care.
Gamble is retiring this month after 36 years in health care. Under his leadership, the original two-person hospital council has grown into three entities that make up the 436-member Center of Health Resources, the National Health Foundation, Center of Health Resources Inc. and the Hospital Council of Southern California.
