CYPRESS : Police Chief Wicker Taken to Hospital
Police Chief Daryl Wicker has been hospitalized after suffering an apparent heart attack over the weekend, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
Lt. John Schaefer said Wicker “experienced what is believed to have been a heart attack” on Friday while visiting Riverside County. Schaefer said Wicker and his wife were driving on a freeway in the Sun City area when the police chief felt chest pain.
Wicker went to a Sun City hospital for treatment, and on Monday morning was transferred to St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton for tests and observation. Schaefer said it not yet known how long Wicker will be hospitalized.
