Mindy Pomper Receives Dean Film Grant Award

The Roy W. Dean Film Grant Award was presented to Mindy Pomper for “Trailblazers: Unsung Military Heroines of World War II” on Aug. 11 during ceremonies held at the Directors Guild of America. The $15,000 prize is awarded to aspiring documentary filmmakers, and the winner and four finalists were chosen from more than 7,000 submissions. The four finalists included: Arledge Armenaki for “The Big Struggle,” Zelmer Bothic for “People United,” Pamela Beere Briggs for “Women of Mystery” and Julia McCamy Tell for “What Is God?”
