More than 10,000 buyers, sellers and manufacturers of golf equipment are expected at the Professional Golfers’ Assn. of America’s annual PGA International Golf Show at the Anaheim Convention Center for three days beginning Sunday.

The show is particularly important for Southern golf resorts and shops preparing for their winter season, said Arnold Billingsley, executive vice president of Performance Oriented Sports Equipment in La Mirada. Billingsley said he is counting on the show to boost sales of his company’s new product--Christmas tree ornaments filled with seven to a dozen golf balls.

In past years, the show has generated 10% to 15% of his company’s sales. Last year the trade show attracted more than 600 exhibitors and close to 11,000 attendees, according to the PGA. The show is not open to the general public.
