Steve Walsh connected with Tyrone Williams on a 32-yard touchdown pass with 3:07 to play Monday night, lifting the Chicago Bears to a 21-18 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs before the Chiefs’ biggest exhibition crowd in 20 years--75,114.

Walsh drove the Bears (3-0) 80 yards in only four plays, aided by two Kansas City penalties. After the touchdown, Walsh passed to Ryan Wetnight for a two-point conversion.

The Chiefs then moved from their 20 to first and goal at the Bears’ four-yard line, but failed to get in the end zone, including a fourth down with 41 seconds to play when backup quarterback Steve Bono fell down and was sacked.

Joe Montana threw the only touchdown pass given up by the Bear defense in the exhibition season, helping the Chiefs build a 15-3 lead. Montana, playing only the first half, completed 13 of 20 passes for 141 yards, including an eight-yard touchdown pass to J.J. Birden. Bono then came in for the Chiefs (2-2) and passed to Jimmy Johnson for the first two-point conversion ever scored against the Bears, who had given up only two field goals in their first two exhibition games.
