Compassionate Doctor Treats From the Heart

Share

While AIDS takes its toll on society, Dr. Scott Hitt refuses to stand by idle (“Forever On Call,” Aug. 14). He appears to be a man full of heart whose compassionate treatment of his patients is remembered by them.

On discrimination against gays, Hitt rightly points out: “There are lots of evil people out there who . . . believe that AIDS is retribution for an evil lifestyle and that being gay is against nature’s laws. There is so much discrimination. . . .”

But it is reassuring and inspiring for me to know that Hitt continues his activities against AIDS, despite all the narrow-minded people out there. Wouldn’t it be nice if there were more doctors like Hitt who take an active part in the community and who, in fact, truly care about people and not only money?
