FALL RIVER, Mass. —
A police officer distributing parking permits for residents to use during a weekend religious festival was killed by a man who shot him three times in the chest with his own gun.
Raymond Cook, who lives in the building where Officer Thomas J. Giunta was shot, was charged with murder. Giunta, 44, and Cook, 46, argued before the shooting, police said. Neighbors said Cook had behaved oddly in the past.
