Cindy Crawford, ravishing supermodel and constant gossip object, makes her big-screen debut opposite William Baldwin in Warner Bros.’ “Fair Game,” which will hit movie screens next summer.

Joel Silver seems to be the producer, but we know nothing else because Warners wouldn’t even admit there was such a film: “How can we tell you if it’s a comedy or drama when we don’t know what you’re talking about?” (Sometimes show biz seems like an endless replay of “Gaslight.” All the PR reps are Charles Boyer, and we are Ingrid Bergman, being driven insane.)

Filming on “Fair Game” begins later this year, no matter what Warners won’t say.

Leslie Caron, the movies’ divine “Gigi,” is meeting with costume designer Renee Kalfus in Paris today, discussing Caron’s wardrobe for Savoy’s “Let It Be Me.” This will be Leslie’s first American-made movie in 30 years. (She has traveled to America to appear in TV shows such as “Falcon Crest,” but she gave up on Hollywood movie-making. She preferred Europe, where she could age naturally, and choose interesting roles that did not make her appear either silly or grotesque--her two brief scenes in Louis Malle’s “Damage,” for example.)

“Let It Be Me,” directed and written by Eleanor Bergstein, is about three couples whose lives entwine and change at a Manhattan ballroom dance studio. Jennifer Beales and Campbell Scott also star. (Bergstein brings good credits and experience to this tale--she wrote and produced “Dirty Dancing.”) Filming begins in New York City after Labor Day.

So who wins the next on-screen dance with new movie throb Hugh Grant? It will be Julianne Moore, last seen in Robert Altman’s “Short Cuts.” Julianne and Hugh will star in 20th Century Fox’s romantic comedy “9 Months.”

Chris Columbus directs, and the movie begins San Francisco location shooting in mid-October.
