LONG BEACH : Arthur M. Lew Named to Superior Court

Long Beach Municipal Judge Arthur M. Lew has been appointed to the Los Angeles County Superior Court by Gov. Pete Wilson.

Lew, who has been a municipal judge since 1991, will succeed Judge Keith G. Wisot, who retired.

Before being appointed to Municipal Court, Lew, 48, was a deputy district attorney from 1984 to 1991. He was a deputy public defender from 1979 to 1984.

Lew, a Torrance resident, is a member of the California Judges Assn., the Long Beach Bar Assn., and the California Chinese Lawyers Assn. He earned a law degree from Southwestern School of Law in Los Angeles in 1975 and a bachelor’s degree from Cal State L.A. in 1970.
