SATICOY : Head of Concrete Firm Is Sentenced

The president of a Saticoy concrete company was sentenced to probation Friday in Ventura County Superior Court for receiving two pieces of stolen heavy equipment worth about $50,000.

Robert Anton Lynch, president of State Ready Mix, was sentenced to three years probation and fined $1,000 for having in his possession two front-end loaders, also known as skip loaders. Deputy Dist. Atty. Richard Simon valued them at about $25,000 each.

Lynch, 64, pleaded guilty July 22 to two counts of receiving stolen property.

One of the front-end loaders had been kept at Lynch’s place of business, where a visiting salesman recognized it as a piece of equipment he had sold to another person, Simon said. He said the other loader had been kept at Lynch’s home in Camarillo. Both pieces of equipment, Simon added, were reported missing in January, 1991, one from a Camarillo construction site and the other from a construction site in the Agoura area.

In addition to probation and a fine, Judge Charles McGrath ordered Lynch to pay any restitution that his victims might be awarded in a civil court judgment, Simon said.

He said the judge also ruled that law enforcement officials can search Lynch’s business at any time, without a warrant, during his probation period.
