SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

Tickets are on sale for the Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera production of “Hello, Dolly!” running Sept. 23 through Oct. 16 at the Granada Theatre. The show, starring film and television veteran Leslie Easterbrook as Dolly, will kick off the company’s 10th anniversary season.

Also scheduled for the upcoming season are “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” (Nov. 18-Dec. 11), “42nd Street” (Feb. 3-26), “Me and My Girl” (April 7-30), and “South Pacific” (June 2-25).

On the down side for the light opera company, “Western Star,” Tony Award-winner Dale Wasserman’s musical about the Old West, had been scheduled to make its world premiere with the company in February. It was pulled from the schedule, however, due to conflicts between the company and the musical’s creator.
