Quiksilver Inc.: The Costa Mesa designer and distributor of casual wear and swimwear for young men and boys posted a profit of $1.5 million, or 23 cents a share, for its third fiscal quarter. That was a gain of 68% from profit of $898,000, or 14 cents a share, from the same period a year earlier. Sales for the quarter ended July 31 increased 30% to $29.2 million from $22.4 million. Year-to-date profit rose 66% from the corresponding nine months of fiscal 1993, to $5.8 million, or 87 cents a share, from $3.5 million, or 55 cents a share. The 1994 figure included a gain of $600,000 from an accounting change. Nine-month sales were up 29% to $89.9 million from $69.9 million.
